If you haven’t been to one of Mayflower Cellars‘ pop-up events, you’re missing out. The Mayflower grill master was manning the coals on our last visit to Cypress and Grove brewery. The result? Amazing local craft beer paired with farm-fresh beef straight from the butcher. I just wish I took a better photo!
After careful deliberation, Gainesville Burger Club has awarded Public & General the coveted 2016 GBC Burger of the Year trophy. When added together, their blend of simple, fresh ingredients amounts to something more than just a sum of parts. The burger comes close to the Platonic Ideal of what we perceive as hamburger. December 2015, Gainesville, FL – Loosey’s has done it! The Gainesville Burger Club is proud to announce that Loosey’s has won The GBC Burger of the Year Award. Their burger ran the gauntlet that is the GBC Scoring Rubric and came out on top.

January 12, 2016, Gainesville, FL – The Gainesville Burger Club welcomes the new year with the launch of its new website. A resounding cheer was heard by burger enthusiasts throughout Greater Alachua County as they heard the news.
“I’ve been waiting for this day for years,” says one area burger fan. “It’s like the GBC read my mind, as my New Year’s resolution this year was to learn more about the idiosyncrasies of Gainesville’s burger scene.”
Milo Garrity, 7, son of GBC co-founder Sean Garrity, couldn’t be more pleased with the launch. “I think it’s great! I like burgers.”
